Simple Creature

Dogs are such simple creatures. A simple balloon is enough to keep them excited and happy.

Even without the balloon. A pat on its head is enough to keep them happy.

They are even easier to be handled then kids.

1200

Well, I'm broke. I'm now using the Nokia 1200.

Cheap simple phone which serves its purpose.

Texting, call-in, call-out. And the battery can last me almost 130hrs between charge.

What to do? I'm broke already mah.

Because of backside itchy and because of seeing one of those working for Skybus at KL Sentral wearing a White AirAsia Cap. And because after not able to buy it onboard the plane. Black and red are easily available onboard the plane but not white.

Lost and Found

This is AMAZING. A photo of my mom's mom. In short my Grandma.

From what I know from my mom is that she had no memory of her since she passed away when my mom was just 3 yrs old. And now, a very rare and precious photo of her was found.

I had to post it up so that my future generations can see how their great grandma looked like when she was young.

New Year Resolutions

I had moved to another stage of my life this year. From Bachelor to a married man. Most of my friends are quite surprised. Well, don't be. Its just another stage of life that everyone will eventually go thru.

Come to think of it, I have passed 30. How many years can I still live? Another 30-40 years? Time flies and that's true. From a teenager to young adult to middle aged man. The journey is fantastic, friends come and go. Although never actually TC, its the difference in ideology that separates us. Of course, at certain stage there will be different friends. But my sincere thanks for all the times we had.

Enough of the appreciating words.

2009, a tough year. Prices are at all time high. Life is not gonna be easy. We have no choice but to change our lifestyles.

As usual, my resolution for the comin year is to win the lottery. (^^)

Recent Developments

5 times decreased of the fuel prices in nothing compared to the Government's 1 time increase!!!

Since the Lah administration took over, prices of everything has gone up, but the value of the Ringgit has stayed up for long. And even has the cheek to say that good times are back.

My US co-worker asked me whether the economy crisis hits us bad, my reply was simple, WE NEVER ACTUALLY RECOVER FROM THE LAST ONE.

Now he is being real quiet and the next in line said this in thestar.
Well, all I can say don't expect too much from the people too.

Company Annual Dinner

I guess I'm now working with one of the best company.

Unlike my ex-company, they still need their staffs to pay for their
annual dinner. I don't think the big blue is so poor until they need
their own staffs to pay themselves just to organize an annual dinner.

Happy Halloween

Mr Pua Senior always ask me why I always go out at night. Here are my

So as you can see the above reasoning, all points to one thing. Money
Saving.

Putrajaya

The place which never fails to capture my breath. 3 lanes road each way, nice buildings, quiet environment. Best of all no traffic.

Well, I had contributed a few light bulbs in these buildings. (^^)

Savings on your phone

Some of you might think that I'm trying very hard too promote Pfingo. True enough, its the best VIOP I've used so far. Better then Skype in fact. Now it had just got better. Now they are charging 0.02 to China, 0.10 to India, 0.05 to Thailand and 0.06 to Malaysia.

Let's forget about the other countries and focus on Malaysia alone. Being the fact that most people are on prepaid nowadays. The average top up per month is between 30-60. But we are bonded with terms that we are to pay for higher rates per minute to other networks. But if you use Pfingo on your Wifi network, you only have to pay about 0.13 per minute to any number in Malaysia. I doubt that not much local companies are able to match such prices nowadays. Even if they can match the price per minute for local numbers, they won't be able to match the prices to China and India. Not even iTALK.

My prepaid top up for last month is record low of RM$ 20. I made calls to China and Malaysia almost daily.

Countdown

The clock is ticking. The bomb is coming. June/July 2009. No one is spared.

Exciting

For once, Malaysia politics had more intrigue twists then CSI or those TVB serials.

M2U For Mobile

I guess Maybank is really out to be the top player in providing mobile banking to the masses. They even developed a program for Symbian phones like the N95. Maybe I'm falling behind the local tech developments nowadays, but I'm really impressed with Maybank's effort.

Problem is that you can only access it via 3G & GPRS running on Maxis and Celcom's network. It would be nice if Wifi is supported in future versions.

What does the word intense on the box means?

A stronger tobacco blend or just another marketing tactic?

Got my hands on one pack, but still haven't tried it out yet.

Converting My Car

TheStar quoted that the Government might subsidies people who convert their vehicles to run on NGV.

I seriously have to consider alternatives to petrol. Its either I take a bus to work which will costs me RM$ 93.00 per month or convert my car to run on NGV which costs about RM$ 8.50 for approximately 200KM.

On Bus:
RM$ 213 per month, with my company subsidizing RM$ 120 every month, I have to pay RM$ 93.00. To which I have to sacrifice time, waking up earlier to catch the bus to work and reaching home later. I forecast that I'll be spending at least 2hrs - 3.5hrs traveling on the road per day depending on the traffic situation. Going for this option will have me lose my freedom of going anywhere after my office hours. I do not want to go back to the times when I was working in Singapore.

On NGV:
Currently I'm spending between RM$ 300-400 on petrol alone for my car. For every 1 cycle of 4 days work, I'll have to travel close to 400KM. So its like 1 tank of petrol for every 4 days of work. And the last amount that I spent for filling up is about RM$75.00. Plus I have to spent a total of RM$ 20.60 on tolls for 1 cycle of work. So for a month, I have to spend about RM$ 400 on toll and petrol just to come to work.

Considering the fact that for RM$8.50 of Natural Gas can runs about 200KM. For a month, I might be spending RM$150.40 for toll and NG for coming to work. I might save about RM$ 250 per month if I convert my car to run on NG. So in a year, I might save up to RM$ 3K.

As reported it costs about RM$ 3-5K to install a NGV kit, so I might be able to break even the installation costs in a year. I think I'll go for it but I'll have to wait for the Government's confirmation on subsidizing us for installing NGV kits.

Impact

The price of petrol has increased 40%, whether you like it or not. Its not going to be easy for everyone nowadays. An 18% increment on Electric is also coming our way in July.

Subsidies are scheduled to be given to the people. But is it enough?

My answer is NO!!!!!!

My car has a 40 litre tank. If a litre costs $2.70, a full tank will cost $108.00. Compared to the previous price, I had to fork out another extra $31.20. And in a month I'll need at least 4-6 tanks of petrol for my car. So that makes extra $124.80 - $187.20 more.

Imagine, 6 tanks of petrol, $648.00, plus the toll that I used everyday. 153.60, plus the parking that I might have to pay. So it can be touching the 1K mark easily every month. With the monthly installment of $800 I have to pay for my car, plus the annual insurance and road tax.

In a year, the money that I have to spend on my car will be about $20.5K. Without the installments to the bank, I still have to spend almost $11K on the basic running of the car. And this amount does not include trips to the workshop.

And they are only giving us a subsidy of $625 per year??? Its only $52.08 per month.

With Highways projects being paid by the Government, and yet they allow companies to ask money from us. Who does all these companies belongs to? Government pay you to build highways, people pay toll to use roads. What is this??? PAP (Pay and Pay)???

Yes, our petrol might still be the cheapest in the region. But do you know that our pay is also one of the lowest in the region. People $1 gets $2.38. Don't compare us with Philippines and Indonesia, both Governments are a disgrace. Or are we steering towards their directions?

Learn from our neighbors down south.....you idiots!!!!!!

Determination 2

Its been almost 10 hours since I'd last had a cigarette. How long can I last this time?

Check back regularly today for updates.....(^^)

Update: In the future, if I make post of such saying that I'm trying to quit smoking, just treat me as bullshitting. (^^)

Childhood Treat

Me, at 30 yrs of age still cannot forget this candy which I loved during my childhood days. As technology advances, these candy is also using foil packaging, unlike the last time where it was being wrapped with a plastic wrapper.

Candy...anyone?????

P/S: Go buy your own

Proton Myvi????

Saw this report on TheStar's website today.Proton Myvi????Since when did Proton launched a Myvi????

It seems that Tan Sin Chow either does not know how to spell Perodua or his is pro-Proton.

HELLO..........its P-E-R-O-D-U-A Myvi.

Macau Nougat

Yup, my parents are back from their trip and........of all those things available in Chine/Macau, why do they have to buy this?????

Nougat???? From Macau?????

I thought the best nougat are from Australia.

Creepy with its color similar to our local funeral clothings. Even creepier to have a photo of a man on its packing. No poses, just a simple headshot which are similar to those photos we saw in funerals of the deceased.

Well.....besides these.....the nougat are pretty good actually. Chewy and full of nutty flavor. I was expecting something crunchy like the Golden Boronia from Australia.

Hatyai Anyone?

It has been almost 2 years since my last visit to Hatyai, Thailand. The last trip there was not a very fruitful trip. So possible trip next month might get something much better then the last time.

Bangkok as from Ah 9 said it was nice. In fact much better then Hatyai. But Hatyai is near to Malaysia, about 6-8 hrs of bus ride and I'm there. Well, maybe I'll do some planning now and go together with my girl when she is here in another 2 months.

Off To China

Well, not me, but my parents. They will be going to China.....again. Making it a yearly affair to do so.

This trip they are gonna touch down at Macau and from there visit, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Dongguan, ShenZhen. It will be a 5 days trip, costing about RM 1600 per head, which includes all the airfares, hotels and necessary expenses during these 5 days. Of course with the price so reasonable, they will be taking Airasia's flights in and out of Macau. What can I say, I really support Tony's Airasia. He makes air travel really affordable for commoners like us.

Man, how I wished I can be there now.......

Aunt's House Warming

Can't help not to attend the function. My mom's elder sister by few minutes is having a house warming today. So here I am, mingling with my relatives whom I'd never saw for a long time.

Kind of nice to have such gathering once in awhile (^^)
