If I stop smoking now

If I stop smoking now at this very moment. This is what will happens to my body.
  • In 20 minutes my blood pressure will drop back down to normal.
  • In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in my blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.
  • In 48 hours my chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left my body. My sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.
  • In 72 hours my bronchial tubes will relax, and my energy levels will increase.
  • In 2 weeks my circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.
  • In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will dissipate as my lung capacity improves by 10%.
  • In 1 year my risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.
  • In 5 years my risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
  • In 10 years my risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
  • In 15 years my risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
Now it evens makes me more determine to quit smoking.

Muruku for my Dog

Went to an Indian restaurant for a FREE buffet dinner, courtesy of the boss of that restaurant. The 5 of us, Nick, Jing, KKpan, Olivia and me grabbed 10 packets of muruku. When I reached home after dinner, I feed my dog with it. A photo to prove.

Satellite TV in your PC

TVants is a very very good program. If you have a broadband connection, download this program and you'll virtually have a satellite program for your PC. I'm sharing a 1mb line with three of my brothers and this is the quality that I'd got. There might be occasionally jerking due to network congestion, the streaming performance is still satisfactory. Although you are not getting the full crisp clear quality like Astro, but who cares as it can save you money. AXN, CCTV, ESPN, NGC, Discovery are just some of the shows you can watch.

Project Save Report: End of Week 1

In a few hours, Project Save will end its first week. The total amount spent till this moment is $ 122.08. An extra of $ 22.08 had incurred. I had to rethink my spending strategy. From the chart that I kept, I had bought 4 packs of cigarettes this week. I need to cut down to 3 packs a week. I had also spent an extra $ 20.00 for miscellaneous purchases.

Hopefully, Week 2 can meet the target of $ 100.00 per week. Go out less and stay home more is the moto for Week 2. (^^)

New Phone?

I know I've just got myself a Pocket PC phone, but the thing is since it is called the PocketPC, its just like a PC, you'll have to occasionally reset the unit. Besides resetting the unit, its a tedious job to write SMS. Besides these 2 cons, I'm very satisfied with it being able to store SMS, I've had about 3000 plus messages in my unit.

But because of the way that I had to write my SMS and the occasional rebooting the system, I want a new traditional handphone. A nice one, like the Sony Ericsson's K800i. But due to the price is still high, I think its either that I get myself a Moto L7 or SE's K750i. Or I can revert back to my SE's K700i.

So the priority now is to just save money first.

Project Save : The first 18 hours

Till this moment, I'd spent $19.00, inclusive of food, ciggies, parking and 1 purchase. From the look of it, it doesn't seems to be going in the right directions. If I keep on spending this amount everyday, I would exceed the expected amount of $100 in no time.

Deadline for the 1st week is 16/10/2006. I'll post another report at the end of the first week.

Perseverance, Endurance are the main keys to make this project a success.

From tomorrow onwards, I'll start a project to spend only $100 per week. This amount will include parking, food, yam cha sessions, ciggies. I'll try to continue this project till the end of the year. Hopefully, till that time I'll be able to save some money for travelling overseas.

Interesting Find

I've bought a book on outdoor tips recently and this is what I found in one of the articles.
It seems that my knowledge of condom was very limited. I don't know that besides using it for what it was meant to be, it can also be used to stored 9 litres of water. How disturbing.

Sleeping Disorder

I'm beginning to become a nocturnal creature. I can't sleep at night, and I can only fall asleep when the Sun is rising. Sometimes even after my day shift which ends at 8pm, I can stay awake till next day 8pm. I've tried to seek some sort of help from my panel doctor, but that fucker does want to provide me with any medications. I think they are trying to save costs for my company. CB!!!

If this problem of mine still persists, I'll knock on their door every night since I cannot sleep at night and kacau them until they cannot sleep themselves. CCB.

Sometimes, I wonder is it because that my heart is just too wild. Sort of in a dilemma, I wanted to sleep, but I wanted to watch movies. I wanted to go out but I just wanted to lie down on my bed. It seems that I just cannot settle down. Or is it because of my blood pressure, which is a bit high for my age, are causing these symptoms?

I think I'll try meditating, learn the art of breathing. (^^)
